Detailed description

The House of Pre-trial Detention is the first pre-trial detention facility in Russia. He began his work in 1875. In the top view, the DPZ has the shape of a square, with a walking yard inside. An interesting detail was the hanging corridor that connected the house of pre-trial detention and the neighboring courthouse. At the beginning of the third decade of the twentieth century, the House became a remand prison of the Leningrad administration. In the period from 1931 to 1932, a design organization operated in the building, in which specialists from among the prisoners conducted their activities. The House of Pre-Trial Detention has experienced many events in its history. For example, many revolutionaries were held here in the pre-revolutionary years, even V. I. Lenin himself.
