Pavilion Tea House
Detailed description
The tea house is part of the architectural ensemble of the Arkhangelsk estate. These are the remains of the Library Pavilion, part of the so-called Small Palace. The library pavilion was built at the end of the 18th century under the Golitsyn family. The author of the project is unknown, but many believe that it was the Italian architect F. Pettondi. The library was a wooden winged building. It was distinguished from other buildings by its tall windows and stucco medallions. In 1829, a fire broke out, as a result of which the side wings were destroyed. However, the reconstruction was not carried out, and instead the central part was decorated in the style of late classicism. The architect was V. Dregalov. The building consists of rusticated walls with a domed rotunda. The interior is decorated with Corinthian columns.
