Lower terrace
Detailed description
In the 18th century, the Arkhangelsk estate near Moscow belonged to the princely family of Golitsyn. One of the representatives of the family, Alexey Dmitrievich, laid out and decorated a park area on the estate. Architect Giacomo Trombara was invited to design the building. A rotunda, a greenhouse, and terraces have appeared on the territory of the park area. The upper terrace offers stunning views. The lower terrace is located as if it encircles the upper one. The upper and lower terraces are connected by a staircase that leads to the fountain. Sculptures adorn the staircase balustrades.
