The almshouse complex on the Petersburg highway of the Imperial Humane Society
Detailed description
Cherkassy Almshouse was established in 1858 by Princess N. A. Cherkasskaya. This architectural building is more than 160 years old. In 1856, the Princess created a wooden church with an almshouse for elderly women. One main temple has a quadrangle with asps and a vestibule, arched openings for windows. In 1898, all wooden buildings were replaced with stone ones. The entrance, where the landmark is located, is framed by arched gates, which are in a dilapidated state.
