Stables of L.A. Mantashev
Detailed description
In 1914-1916, the oil industrialist L. Mantashev built a complex of buildings next to the Racetrack. The project was developed by brothers V. A. and A. A. Vesnin in collaboration with engineer A. G. Izmirov and featured a rare Baroque stylization for the Silver Age. The complex consisted of two side buildings of the stables, a central palace building with two floors, a passage arch and a gazebo, as well as a three-story office building located in the rear of the courtyard. There was a pavilion for blacksmiths in the center of the courtyard. In 1993, the wooden side buildings of the stables were demolished, and a reinforced concrete frame of the theater hall was built in the courtyard, which was leaned against the front building. Financing of the project began in 1997, but was soon discontinued. The territory was used by car service companies.
