The Church of the Holy Trinity at the former Cherkasy Almshouse
Detailed description
The almshouse was built at the expense of Princess Nadezhda Cherkasskaya (widow of Prince Nikolai Cherkassky, hero of the war of 1812) In the first three years of the 19th century, there were country villages and meadows in the area. Princess Cherkasskaya bought Peter Bove's cottage and built a house with a stone foundation and the life-giving Trinity Church in it. The church was subordinate to the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, sponsored by the Lavra brethren, and regularly held divine services there.
