Vorontsov Palace
Detailed description
The palace was built in 1749-1758. Architect Francesco Rastrelli worked on its construction. The architecture of the palace adheres to the Baroque style. The three-storey main building is located at the back of the courtyard facing Sadovaya Street. The main building adjoins the second U-shaped building with its rear facade, forming an inner courtyard with access to the park. Two symmetrical two-storey extensions were located along the red line of the street. They were connected to the main building by a semicircular passage, which was later demolished. The facade of the palace was decorated with three projections - risalites. In the center was the entrance arch, which was later rebuilt. This arch was replaced by a porch and a front entrance.
