Prince of Oldenburg Children's Hospital
Detailed description
The Children's City Multidisciplinary Clinical Center of High Medical Technologies named after K.A. Rauchfuss is the first children's hospital in St. Petersburg. The building was opened on September 30, 1869. The hospital was built for sick children of all classes. For the first time in the history of hospital care in Russia, the infectious diseases department was housed in a separate building, and patients lay in isolated rooms. It was here that white coats for doctors and all staff were introduced for the first time in Russia. The project is an example of architecture for children's hospitals in Russia.
