Pavlovsky Women's Orphan Institute
Detailed description
The construction of the building was completed in 1851, and the style of the building reflects the Renaissance. The building does not stand out for its ornate decoration, plaster in combination with shallow rustication was used only for cladding the lower floor and cornice. The walls of the two upper floors are left unpainted. This resulted in an interesting combination of red brick and grey finishes.
The upper part of the windows is decorated with arched architraves. The piers are divided by high shoulder blades, and the walls are completed with a massive cornice on machicolated arches.
