Detailed description
The Cavalry Guards Barracks Ensemble is an ensemble of barracks and other buildings on the corner of Kirochnaya and Mokhovaya Streets. It is located in the historical center of St. Petersburg. In 1712, by decree of Peter the Great, the first wooden barracks of the Life Guards Cavalry regiment was built on the site of the current Kirochnaya Street. The barracks was built on a site owned by Prince A. D. Menshikov. In 1716, it was rebuilt in stone.
