The mansion of M.I. Skalon - The House of S.A. Batashev - The House of Klokachev
Detailed description
The house was one of the last to be built on this site. In the 1800s, it belonged to S.P.Svechin, but by 1810 he decided to sell it. Despite the convenient location, the buyer was found only in 1816. The buyer was Pyotr Grigoryevich Masarsky, a Minister of state known for his active entrepreneurial activity. S.A. Batashev had never lived in a house on the embankment and rented it out completely. In 1832, Alexander Pushkin moved into the house, which at that time belonged to the Russian government. The Batashevs owned the house until 1889. Then, until 1917, it was owned by the wife of Colonel K.A.Skalon. She rebuilt the mezzanine into a full-fledged floor and made the window frames on the third and second floors more intricate, but the building as a whole has not undergone significant changes.
