The apartment house of the merchant Sh.Z. Ioff
Detailed description
The house with a tower on Five corners is located on Rubinstein Street and was built in 1913. The architectural monument is made in the neoclassical style. The first two floors of the house of the commission agent Schneer-Zalman Ioff were reserved for trade: large windows typical of storefronts, devoid of decor. The upper floors and the attic are decorated with columns, pediments with large sculptures. There are 40 caryatids on the facade of the house — all of them are installed around the perimeter of the building. Joff himself and his family lived on the top floor at that time.
