Detailed description

It was built between 1784 and 1785. It is sometimes called the "octagon" because of the shape of the layout. The building is a regular octagon with a large circular hall in the center, around which there are 16 rooms. Half of these rooms are large squares, the rest are small adjacent triangles. The four main facades of the mansion are oriented to the base and framed by an elegant portico and a luxurious pediment, decorated with delicate white stone. The columns of the portico are inlaid with white stone on the brickwork, which gives it an elegant, light look. During its history, the building was little used and gradually fell into disrepair. By the time restoration work began, only the exterior walls of the building remained. Restoration work was carried out from 1985 to 1994, and since 1995 the building has been used as an exhibition hall, and since 2001 as the keeper of the Tsaritsyno State Museum Reserve.
