Arch-gallery between the Grand Palace and the Bread House
Detailed description
The arch was built in 1784-1785 according to the design of Vasily Bazhenov and its main purpose is decorative. Although there is an assumption that the arch was originally supposed to connect the Grand Palace and the Bread House for serving dishes, this theory is rejected by most historians due to the lack of exits in the structures. The gallery is decorated on all sides with stucco made of white stone, and the arch itself resembles a crown of plants with thorns. The gallery is considered the hallmark of Tsaritsyno Park.
