Evangelical Women's Hospital
Detailed description
The building of the Evangelical Women's Hospital was built between 1869 and 1871. The grand opening took place on February 4, 1873, and was attended by Grand Duchess Ekaterina Mikhailovna herself. The hospital accepted female patients of different income levels. There were paid rooms for wealthy citizens, and poor women were accommodated for free. Since then, only medical facilities have been located in this building. Since 1922, patients of any gender with pulmonary tuberculosis have been admitted here. In 1983, the building housed the Research Institute of Phthisiopulmonology.
