The third grotesque bridge is part of a large ensemble of buildings and structures commissioned by Empress Catherine the Great at the end of the 18th century. The Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve is one of the largest museums in Moscow, attracting millions of visitors annually. The third grotesque bridge was designed by the Russian architect Ivan Yegov and built in 1805. The bridge was built of red brick with smooth white stone blocks.
