Detailed description

Kikiny Chambers is one of the oldest monuments of civil architecture of the eighteenth century in St. Petersburg. They are named after their first owner, Admiralty Advisor A.V. Kikin. The construction of the chamber began in 1714, presumably by A. Schluter and was carried out in two stages. Initially, the building was one-story with a basement and a two-story central part. In the 1720s, a basement was added to the side wings, the facade of the first floor was decorated with one pilaster, and the second with two pilasters. On the facade facing the Neva River, the side paneled windows were framed with intricately patterned plastic ribbons. The Kikin Chambers embody the foundations of the "Petrovsky Baroque" style.
