Detailed description

Fyodor Mikhailovich moved to St. Petersburg in 1937 and lived here until his death. During this time, he changed more than 20 addresses, but the house on the corner of Dostoevsky and Kuznechnaya Streets is special. The writer lived there with his family and died here. 150 years after the birth of Fyodor Mikhailovich, it was decided to open a literary and memorial center in the house. The rooms were restored based on photographs taken after the writer's death. The main characters of the exhibition are Dostoevsky's descendants and their relatives, who kept the objects and books. The museum's collection is not limited to photographs. There are theater posters, books, photographs, and even manuscripts that belonged to the writer. The museum includes a memorial apartment, an exhibition of Dostoevsky and the exhibition "Literature. Life and creativity: Pro et contra", lectures and literary evenings are held here.
