A house with classic writers
Detailed description
The house with the writers would have been the most ordinary building, if only all its facades had not been decorated with a procession of 50 figures in antique clothes heading to Apollo, surrounded by muses, who distributed wreaths of glory to artists, writers and scientists from different countries and, of course, writers of Russia - Gogol, Pushkin, Tolstoy. It is precisely because of such bizarre bas-reliefs that this house got its rather unusual and at the same time slightly bizarre name — the "House with Writers", and, undoubtedly, a huge number of diverse legends and stories.
The most interesting thing is that all the plaster figures were made in human height, and many believe that Tolstoy's bas—relief on the Broido house is the only surviving lifetime sculpture of the writer.
