Matavkin Mansion - S.S. Botkin's House
Detailed description
The historical building known as the Matavkin Mansion is the house of S. S.Botkin, built in 1860 in the style of pre-revolutionary buildings. It is currently used as an apartment building, an architectural monument.
It was built by an unknown architect for the aristocrat Alexander Matavkin, who lived here with his family for three months in the first half of the 19th century.
In 1903, the estate was acquired by the doctor S.S.Botkin, who, after a lengthy reconstruction, gave it its current appearance. It is a three-storey stone building with a front facade decorated with pilasters and semicircular pediments.
