It was opened in 1929. The basis of the art collection is the collection of Yakov Ivanovich Butovich (1882-1937), a horse breeder and owner of the Prilep stud farm. Today, he has the world's largest collection of equestrian art, including easel paintings, graphics and sculpture. The collection contains works by more than 200 artists. In addition to the art collection, there is a large collection of photographs and books, art artifacts, a collection of bells, harnesses, including antique lots, and skeletons of famous stallions (Bull and Catch).
