B.K. Gindze Museum of Anatomy
Detailed description
The Museum of Anatomy was officially opened on September 2, 1940. The founder is Boris Konstantinovich Gindze, the first head of the Department of Animal Anatomy and Histology. In 1935, he began the creation of an Anatomicum, an educational building specially adapted for anatomy and histology. The scientific part of the Museum of Anatomy has a rich collection on the anatomy of animals of various systematic groups: it includes the collections of V.Ya. Brovar on the apparatus of movement in comparative and age aspects, V.I. Ippolitova on the nervous system of domestic mammals and others. The collection is regularly updated and expanded thanks to the efforts of the department staff, students and graduates.
