V. R. Williams Soil and Agronomic Museum

The W.R. Williams Soil and Agronomic Museum is one of the largest soil museums in Russia and the world. It contains a rich collection of soils from the Arctic Ocean to the equator. Practical classes were held at the academy from April to September, students and teachers went on expeditions to collect and study various soil samples. Small exhibition halls were set up in two classrooms, which were constantly expanding and replenished. Soil monoliths collected in the late 19th and early 20th centuries from cultivated lands and soil samples from the genetic layer of primary forests, and many other exhibits are valuable as "monuments" of nature, environmentally friendly and allowing the study of changes in soil cover.
