House of the People 's Commissariat

This Soviet facility was built in 1937 to house the governing bodies of the People's Commissariat of Waterways of the Volga-Moscow Canal. Initially it had large rooms, but after the war it was reduced to communal apartments. It had its own artesian well and a separate bomb shelter. It is currently being used as a residential building.
