Detailed description
The building was built in the 1830s, later expanded and rebuilt. Initially, there was a two-storey workshop of a carriage maker. In 1847, by order of the new owner, Kosikovsky, the house was rebuilt. The house acquired its modern appearance in the 1860s and 70s, when it was bought by A.M. Tupikov. The architect's ideas are impressive, the eclectic style is perfectly applied. The facade of the building is decorated with griffins, dragons and peacocks. In pre-Soviet times and after 1917, the house housed the editorial offices of several newspapers. Among the famous people in the house lived the writer S.Ya. Marshak, composer V. Salmanov.
