Berso
Detailed description
The summer garden is a place that is definitely worth a visit. This is the oldest park in St. Petersburg, created by Peter the Great since the founding of the city. "Berso" is a garden and park facility that is part of this garden. Formed by vertical walls for climbing plants and a vaulted ceiling, the alley takes on a fabulous look. As the plants grow, they form a continuous green tunnel. The berso looks like a pergola, but it looks bigger and longer. Such covered alleys appeared in French parks in the 17th century, and then became popular in landscape parks of the 18th century.
