Museum of the History of the Summer Garden
Detailed description
In 1704, the Summer Garden was founded. The author of the project was Peter the Great, and architect I. M. Ugryumov helped to realize the idea. Previously, only invited guests could get here, but under Elizabeth Petrovna, the park was open to all citizens and visitors. In the 77th year of the eighteenth century, after a flood, the garden was almost completely destroyed. In the 19th century, the garden acquired landscape features - bushes and trees stopped being trimmed. In the 34th year of the twentieth century, the museum began its work in the Summer Garden. In the 45th year of the twentieth century, the park was reopened to parishioners. In 2009-2011, restoration work was carried out, with the help of which they were able to restore the former appearance of the Summer Garden. In the garden you can see not only alleys, but also sculptures, as well as fountains.
