Ensemble of the Court Stable Department

The ensemble of the Court Stable Department covers the area from the Moika River to Swedish Lane. The XX century Literary Museum, St. Mary's Cathedral and much more are located on the territory of the ensemble. The stable department was established in 1723 under Peter the Great for the proper placement of horses and carriages. In 1823, the complex was rebuilt and expanded to its current scale.
