Church of Tsar-Martyr Nicholas II and all New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia
Detailed description
The Golovinsky cemetery houses the church of All the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia, dedicated to the holy tsar-Martyr Nicholas II. The church belongs to the Russian Orthodox Autonomous Church, which at one time was part of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad. In 1992, the Russian Church Abroad opened a church in a building built in the 1950s. Since that time, divine services have been held in an old stone building that bore little resemblance to a church. Reconstruction work began in the early 2000s and was completed by the end of 2008. During the reconstruction, divine services continued, and in December 2014, Metropolitan Theodore consecrated the church.
