The building was built in 1833. Leo Tolstoy lived in this house for a while, he rented an apartment that consisted of 5 rooms. While here, he came up with the plot "The Story of Yesterday," and also wrote the novel "A Tale from Gypsy Life," which has not been preserved. And in the novel "War and Peace" he described the apartment in which he lived. The building has been rebuilt many times, but it has not lost its charm over the years. The house is of cultural value and is included in the list of newly identified sites.
