The apartment house of merchant Bragin
Detailed description
The house has three floors in total, the building was built at the end of the eighteenth century. Then, in the 1830s, architect A. I. Melnikov built the building on four floors and extended it along the canal. In 1883, the internal reconstruction was carried out during the major renovation of the building. The difference from the neighboring buildings is the slightly rounded corners of the house and the wrought—iron grilles on the balconies. The windows offer a picturesque panorama of St. Nicholas Square with the cathedral and bell tower, you can see the Kryukov Canal, the Estonian Orthodox Church and the domes of the Trinity Cathedral.
