Detailed description

The Smirnov apartment building was built in 1906-1907 by order of the merchant Smirnov. The architect of the project was F. F. von Postels. He built a six-story apartment building. Details of the facade's sculptural decoration have been preserved to this day: lion masks, garlands of flowers, wrought-iron grilles on balconies and balustrades of the grand staircase. There was a fireplace at the entrance from the street to the lobby, now it is destroyed. Among the people who lived here in different years were such people as: State Councilor A.P. Kiselyov, author of textbooks on mathematics, painter N. A. Ashukin, professor of the Mining Institute L. S. Librovich, researcher of the geology of the Urals.
