Serednikovo Manor
Detailed description
The manor was founded in the 18th century. This estate belonged for many years to Mikhail Yuryevich's father, Yuri Petrovich Lermontov, the founder of the literary trend of romanticism in Russia. In 1993, the National Lermontov Center was established, to which the estate was transferred for a long-term lease for 49 years. The museum consists of several buildings: the main house, where the memorial exhibitions are located, a chapel tower, a park and a garden. The main house houses various items related to the life and work of Mikhail Lermontov. Here you can see letters, manuscripts, first editions of his works, portraits, household items, clothes, etc. The chapel tower, built in 1795, is a decorative and applied work of art of the XVIII century. Here you can see the church's gold-embroidered and gilded jewelry, as well as unique fabrics. The green area of the park and garden at the estate has also become an object of protection.
