Detailed description

Located in the historical district of Moscow, St. Vladimir's Church was built by master Aleviz in 1516, by order of Vasily III, who commissioned him to erect eleven churches in Moscow. However, in 1933 the temple was closed, and in 1937 they began to dismantle it. Despite the destruction of five chapters and the destruction of the interior, thanks to the intervention of the state monument protection authorities of the city of Moscow, the church was saved from complete destruction. The building was transferred to the State Public Historical Library. In 1990, after the completion of restoration work in the exterior of the church, it was transferred to the Russian Orthodox Church, and in 1991, after a long break, the first liturgy was held in the restored Vladimir Church.
