The Memorial House Museum of Academician I.V. Kurchatov was opened on January 12, 1970. Igor Kurchatov is a land surveyor and an honorary citizen. He studied the physics of the atomic nucleus, developed the Soviet atomic bomb and the hydrogen bomb. The museum contains many articles and materials of the academician and his family. There are photographs from his personal collection, including instruments created by the scientist himself.
