The building of the Board of the Rescue Society on the waters
Detailed description
The building, which was built for the main board of the Imperial Water Rescue Society, is a three-story building designed by engineer and architect Peter Kupinsky in 1894. Inside the building there were various rooms: a meeting room, a museum, a library, an office and a warehouse for storing boats and other rescue equipment on the water. The building is also historically significant, as the Russian Olympic Committee was established in it in 1911, and in the 1930s the Leningrad Branch of the Research Institute of Water Supply, Sewerage and Engineering Hydrogeology settled here. Currently, the building is used as a Center for psychological and pedagogical correction and rehabilitation.
