Elisavetinsky Temple
Detailed description
In 1995, in the small village of Opalikha, the idea arose to create a church dedicated to Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna. The community of believers grew and developed rapidly. Three years later, the first stone of the large stone church was laid, and in 2009 the new church was consecrated by Metropolitan Juvenal of Krutitsky and Kolomna. The architectural style of the new temple combines elements of Smolensk and Byzantine architecture of the 12th century. A single-domed belfry is located inside the temple. The walls of the temple are decorated with white stone and beautiful mosaic icons.
