Obukhov Hospital
Detailed description
Obukhov Hospital, one of the first city hospitals in Russia, has been operating since 1779, although its grand opening on the Fontanka Embankment took place only in 1780. The building of the former women's department in St. Petersburg now houses the naval medical clinic of the Kirov Military Medical Academy, and most of the wards are closed for repairs. There are monuments and memorial plaques in the building. The main hospital building is built in the classical style.
