Church of Vladimir the Holy Martyr and New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia in Petrovsky Park
Detailed description
On August 25, 2018, the solemn consecration of the church of the Holy Martyr Vladimir Medvedyuk and the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia took place in Petrovsky Park. The Great consecration of the baptismal church and the Divine Liturgy were celebrated by Bishop Paramon of Bronnitsky, governor of the Northern and Northwestern Districts. In form and architecture, the church resembles a Romanesque baptistery, but in a simpler, modern version. The main volume of the building is a high quadrangle, on which a rotunda is installed under the dome. There is also a semicircular apse adjacent to the quadrangle. The temple can accommodate up to 100 parishioners. The interior adheres to the mosaic style, and the baptistery resembles a small two-story courtyard with many internal arches.
