Podmoskovnaya Railway Station
Detailed description
Podmoskovnaya is a branch of the Moscow Railway located in Moscow on the Riga line. It is part of the Center for the Operation of Railway stations 3 (Moskovsko-Smolenskiy Center) of the Main Directorate of Traffic Management of the Moscow Railway. By the nature of its operation, this station is stationary and belongs to Class 1 in terms of workload. The station and locomotive depot were built in 1901 as part of the construction of the Vindava Railway (now the Riga branch of the MZhD). In the 1940s, the station was the largest marshalling yard at the Moscow railway junction.
