Imperial Educational Home

The building was founded in 1764 on the initiative of the enlightened Ivan Betsky as a charitable boarding school for orphans. In the nineteenth century, architect Domenico Giraldi built an extension to the orphanage under the direction of A. Grigoriev and M. Bykovsky. Until 2015, the Military Strategic Missile Academy and the Russian Medical Academy were located in the orphanage building. The ensemble of buildings that made up the orphanage is an architectural monument of the XVIII-XX centuries.
