* One of the oldest industrial complexes in the Moscow region is a cloth factory, built in 1830 on the banks of the Perkhorka River. The plant needed water for production, so it was built in this place. It included a whole factory village and barracks for workers who, having become a historical district of Balashikha, lived here. In 1918, the factory was nationalized and came under the control of the Soviet authorities, who paid great attention to textile production. However, the restructuring led to a decline in the company, which needed financing and the purchase of new equipment. In 2005, the cloth factory ceased to exist, and today its premises are rented out. However, this cultural and historical monument remains a living testimony to the importance of the textile industry in the region.
